Galfer USA strives to stay ahead of the curve, and when the newly released Indian FTR came out, we got our hands on this beautiful motorcycle as soon as we could.
We are excited to offer a complete line up of braking system options for the Indian FTR 1200.
WHAT WE'VE GOT
This bike has a lot of high quality components on it -- but it needed a brake upgrade. We swapped out the stock rotors for our Wave ® rotors. For the FTR 1200, you'll need a DF707W. This rotor is laser cut from virgin 420 stainless steel, and features our one of a kind Wave ® design.
This rotor will be much less likely to warp than a stock rotor due to our high quality processes and materials, and deliever a much more powerful braking performance over stock.
For the FTR 1200, our brake pad part number is FD475. Luckily for you, we have several compound options depending on your riding style. If you are looking for a general OEM brake pad replacment, we have our FD475G1054 semi-metallic compound.
If you are looking for a brake pad with more bite and less brake fade, you'll want to try out our FD475G1370 sintered brake pad.
If you want to take it a step further and run what our road racers like, you can try out our FD475G1375 Sintered-ceramic brake pad. The 1375 will also be a sintered brake pad, but it will feature a ceramic coating on the backing plate that helps prevent heat from getting in your calipers.
We will also have a stainless steel braided brake line kit available for the FTR 1200. It's not on our website YET, but will be shortly. Our stainless steel braided brake lines can alleviate mushy or soft brake lever feel. We will also offer this kit as a custom kit if you want to change up the colors of the lines or fittings.
